Your Berlin, Connecticut property tax bill is going up by 4% so be prepared to shell out another couple of hundred bucks in July.
518 Berlin taxpayers voted for the $70.4 million budget last week…don’t you just love them?! What was going through their minds? Who are these 518 people? Have you seen their mugshots in the post office?
If only another couple of hundred of voters had voted against the budget, we might have been able to keep that extra $200 in our pockets this July. I’m glad you can afford to pay the extra taxes because I can’t. My clients are having difficulty paying me as it is; I can’t raise my fees, like the Town of Berlin.
Do you think it’s time to throw out the present management and elected officials who supported this budget? $70 million for the high school to be renovated; and now $70 million for an annual budget…what’s with this $70 million?!
I am a Certified Public Accountant. I would love the opportunity to go through the budget and start line-iteming all of those approved expenditures with my machete. Our country is on the verge of an economic collapse and instead of our Town government lowering taxes, it raises taxes! Go figure.
It’s time for a change, a big change. And if the Town officials cannot exercise more restraint and concern for the taxpayers’ wallets, it’s time to start issuing pink slips.
Who’s in charge of this government? If I ran a company like this, do you think that I would still have a job?!
Hey, Berlin taxpayers, it’s time to get angry and organized. It’s time to speak up and act. Otherwise next year, it’ll be $75 million or $80 million, and an additional $300 hundred dollars in taxes!
